Data Analysis and Modelling

Our Data Analysis and Modelling Team is responsible for the design and delivery of projects’ data analysis and modelling requirements, including the verification, testing and statistical analysis of survey results.

The team have extensive experience of building complex models using a wide variety of primary and secondary, public and proprietary data sources. They have the capacity and capability of implementing complex econometric models, from simple bivariate and multivariate regressions, to panel data techniques and logit / probit modelling to understand the relative importance of different factors on decision choices.

Survey Research

Survey Manager: Stephanie Wright

PACEC has the capacity and experience to undertake survey research using a wide variety of methods including web surveys, email and postal surveys, telephone interviews and face to face interviews. Our projects also frequently involve undertaking in-depth qualitative interview programmes and case studies at all levels of companies and organisations.

Our fieldwork team is trained in house to ensure quality and a rigorous approach to research.

Economic Intelligence and Forecasting

EIF Manager: Matt Rooke

The EIF team are responsible for the PACEC Local Economic Performance System (LEPS) which adds value to ONS and other data to provide an analysis of trends and performance for local areas and regions using indicators tracked over time.

The team also manages the economic forecasting service, the input/output model, and the Impact Assessment Model (IAM) which permits the impact of agencies to be estimated.

The team offers a bespoke modelling service which incorporates data from LEPS, and our own survey research to produce highly customised outputs. This service has recently been used for analysis in the chemicals, air transport, sporting, agricultural, and oil and gas sectors.

Our consultancy services also benefit from an extensive network of experienced Associates and collaborative links with private and public sector organisations:

  • Through a wide network of Associates in the UK and overseas, PACEC enhances its range of capabilities and strengthens its capacity to provide clients with leading edge specialist consultancy services.
  • A formal strategic agreement with Capita Symonds, a major UK consultancy, enables PACEC to provide collaborative support for project and programme implementation and significantly broadens the company’s consultancy offer.
  • In addition the company has developed informal links and collaborative partnerships with a range of other consultancies in the UK and overseas.
  • PACEC also has extensive experience of collaborating with academic institutions and has for example undertaken a number of assignments in collaboration with the Centre for Business Research in the University of Cambridge.
